In fact, what I teach our students and clients (at all business “life stages,” from start-up to scale-up) is that you make 80% of your money from doing your Unique Brilliance. Whenever you’re doing something else, you are costing your company money.

This doesn’t just work for me, this works for every business owner, including you.

For the first half of my career in coaching entrepreneurs to become more successful, I told people that silver bullets and magic pills don’t exist.

I told all my clients that your entrepreneurial success depends only on consistency, sheer effort, blood-sweat-and-tears and willful determination.

That elusive Magic Pill?!? Nope. Doesn’t exist and never will.

Stop asking for a magic pill!, I would tell people.

But then I experienced a transformation in my own business. Something I never expected.

The following quote by Napoleon Hill finally made sense to me, because it happened to me:

Something amazing happened (I’ll tell you about it in a video I’ll be sharing with you in a few days) and I realized that there was indeed a way to put everything I’d been teaching and doing myself on overdrive.

That was the beginning of the journey that helped me turn my yearly income into my monthly income…

…with authenticity and integrity, of course.

I recently spoke with a new student about his business. Prior to joining our Business School, John experienced a tremendous decrease in revenue.

Despite putting his best face forward, he was stressed and not taking a salary.

He was worried – as anyone would be – about how to rebuild and get his cash flow back to where it used to be.

After listening to him and learning more about his business, I realized that his cash flow situation is actually really common among entrepreneurs at all levels, one that most business owners and entrepreneurs have dealt with at one time or another.

How do you increase your cash flow now?? Today I’d like to share with you John’s story and the solution I gave him to inject a business with cash, now. Here it is:

There are many reasons for a reduction in cash. John’s revenue decreased because he, for lack of a better term, had put all of his eggs in one basket by putting his major focus on just one big client. And when that happens, when one of your clients provides you with the bulk of your business’ income, losing them, or having them greatly reduce their contract, means trouble.

For some, it can even mean crisis.

Unless, you have a plan!

In today’s short five-minute video, I show you how to quickly recoup your cash flow, no matter if you’re making $8,000, $80,000 or $800,000 a year.

I recorded this new video success tip based on something I live everyday in my business.

We entrepreneurs, regardless of what level of business we’re at, often find ourselves staring fear right in the face. Hey, it simply comes with the territory of climbing out on that limb and taking certain risks (risks that others aren’t necessarily willing to take…) in order to accomplish our BIG goals.

I share my secret on how to get THROUGH that fear and come out on the other side with all the success you desire. Make this tip part of your daily routine and you’ll experience the POWER of positive expectation because what you have in your life is based on what you EXPECT.

Sometimes, for some reason, the brand new client decides to back out and not go forward with working with you, even BEFORE starting the work.There’s nothing more frustrating.

Do you let them just walk away, or do you DO something about it? In my opinion, how to respond is directly related to the reason they’re backing out. Once you know, you can respond accordingly. (more…)

To dramatically increase referrals, it’s important to educate the people you consider personal advocates (those who know you, like you, trust you, love you, and want the best for you), and let them know what you’re up to and who your best clients are.

If you’re just starting out, it’s a letter of introduction; if you’ve been in practice several months or years, write an “update letter” on how your practice has grown or new services that you provide. (more…)

It’s been a busy season of meetings and trips, both personal and professional. Last week, I attended a one-day meeting that left me sleepless last night, my mind racing about the possibilities for expansion of The Client Attraction System® to a global company that is the number one resource for women entrepreneurs looking to attract more clients, experience unlimited lifetime growth and an unsurpassed quality of life. My heart races when I imagine how truly big this vision is, and yet, at the same time, how doable and attainable it is, right within my reach. I’ll share more of the development over the next few months…

This is actually a great example of the kind of mindset you need whenever you’re looking to grow your business, even if you’re at the beginning stages, stuck, frustrated, overwhelmed even with the prospect of getting just a few more clients on board. Now that I’m done traveling for the year (other than a solo, romantic 2-night jaunt to New York City this week with Derek), I’m looking forward to finishing my book in December and January. And while Derek and the kids went skiing in Vermont this weekend, I stayed home to spend quality time with little Oliver in our new home, and for some girlfriend time from my close friend Baeth who visited me from Tucson, AZ. It was great, relaxed fun! Hope you had a greet weekend too…

Let’s face it: being self-employed, our businesses are fundamentally a reflection of every part of us. It’s not like working for a corporation where you don’t really control the outcome of the business unless you’re at the top. Who you and I “are” as people literally affects our businesses, every day, every minute, every second, with every breath.

Knowing that the “inner” is directly reflected in the “outer,” it’s especially so for those working solo. If there’s turmoil or disconnection within you as a person, it will be reflected in your business. If there’s purpose, acceptance, and alignment, things come to you without struggle. (more…)
