Perhaps you are experiencing self doubt about a recent pricing change or feel concerned about new business opportunities. I want to share with you what I have done to stay positive and on the right track.

I actually have a script I say to myself at stressful times: “I am positively expecting great results no matter what I see in front of me. The Universe is rearranging itself for my best interest right now.”

I am not kidding about the power of saying this to yourself. Here’s an amazing story about how well this works…

When I was coming back from a trip to Mexico, I was in line to board the plane and handed over my ticket. The airline representative asked for the customs form I received on the way in. I responded, “What customs form?” She said, “Didn’t they tell you at the check-in counter?” I replied, “No, I used the kiosk and I’m carrying my bags on the plane, so I didn’t speak to anyone.”

The airline rep proceeded to tell me on the flight to Mexico I was given a customs form and needed to provide it or else I couldn’t get back into the country. As you can imagine, I started breaking out in a sweat and asked if she could just give me another form to fill out. She said no, I’d have to go back through customs and by that time I’d miss my plane!

This was the last flight of the day and we had a live meeting for The Client Attraction Business School the very next day. I had to get on that plane.

The woman from the airline asked if it could be in my suitcase, and I thought there was no way. Why would I put it in there? But she went to look through my bag.

As I stood at the counter, I closed my eyes and repeated that script about the Universe rearranging itself for me about 40-45 times. I was speaking out loud. I didn’t care if I looked crazy. The words I shared above were the only thought I permitted.

The airline rep came back over to me a few minutes later and told me when she opened my suitcase, the form was right on top. Trust me when I tell you I did NOT remember putting it there when I packed.

Now, some people would say this was just a coincidence, but I assure you it was not. Belief creates reality. Other people say, “I’ll believe it when I see it,” but it actually works the opposite way. You will see it only when you believe it, because you put yourself in a position of positive expectation. That’s how the Universe will literally rearrange itself to deliver what you want.

Do you see places in your life and business where you can apply this technique? Next time you come up against something that challenges you, try using this script. Repeat the phrase multiple times, over and over again. Truly believe it. Then see what happens.

Choose to step *into* fear… (inspiring story)

Sometimes I have these moments in my business where I am reminded so greatly of the importance of what we do within the Business School… and how meaningful the results are for our students…

I sat down on my porch this morning with my mug of coffee and opened my email. Within minutes, I was in tears. Good tears.

One of our students in the Growth Track sent me a video (for my eyes only) telling me about all the big things that have happened since she enrolled in The Client Attraction Business School months ago. She told me how she used to get in her own way, again and again, not saying yes to the opportunities that kept showing up, for fear of (being judged, being criticized, [insert your own fears here, we all have them]).

But then something happened, she said. There was one thing that was absolutely life-changing for her, something that got her out of her own way.

She upgraded her Mindset with me, in the span of 3 days.

She told me how she had been approached with a BIG opportunity for growth year after year, but her “gunky” mindset kept getting in the way and she kept saying no to this opportunity because she was scared. Like many of us, she was scared to take this next giant leap in her business. “What if I’m not good enough? What if I don’t have what it takes?” she asked herself, like so many who stop themselves do.

She said that only after attending The Mindset Retreat just 11 months ago, was she able to step into fear with courage and confidence, rather than back down like she’d done previously. As she’s telling me this in her video, she was holding back tears of gratitude that, frankly, got my eyes worked up too.

And guess what? After shifting her mindset just months ago, and stepping INTO the fear with a newfound faith, rather than backing away from it, she’s finally said yes to this big opportunity, and said yes to countless other opportunities that have brought her business (and income) to an entirely new level.

In fact, this is the second time in 2 days that I’ve been told something like this…

I’d like to keep her anonymity private because, well, she’s a private kind of person, but I have to tell you that in her video, she revealed to me that she’s still a little scared sometimes.

And so am I.

Fears will always show up when you reach for a fuller, richer, more abundant life. Here are examples of fears that come up when you begin to think bigger and reach for something outside your comfort zone:

  • Fear of rejection
  • Fear of failure (or fear of success)
  • Fear of what others will think of you

And I will tell you, if you want to get to that next level of your own income and breakthrough, you MUST be willing to stretch beyond your existing comfort zone. That’s what happened to this Growth Track student of ours.

And here’s what she said she now realizes: since our Mindset work together, she now knows just how to walk right into those pesky fears with confidence and how exciting it really is to do so, and then reap the rewards.

So, I’m celebrating her big time today. Because she said YES to upgrading her mindset (there is no other choice, just so you know, unless we want to stay at the same plateau).

I hope this inspires you just a bit, and I also want to share a mindset lesson with you, in hopes that you will overcome some of the same fears she was able to (and that all our students do), so you too can step into your greater purpose and a more abundant life.

A love letter to you, on this special day

Fabienne's Love NoteThis (very) personal note was not something I expected to write you today, and at the risk of sounding overly emotional or sentimental, I will admit to you that my eyes are welled up in tears as I write this. Today, this special day, is one that means the world to me…


1.the power or right to act, speak, [do business] or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.

Today happens to be the day that most people celebrate as Independence Day in the US. Yes, it’s meant to mark the holiday in the United States commemorating the declaration of independence from the United Kingdom. And yes, there are the requisite barbeques, fireworks and the red, white and blue everywhere (you should actually see how my house is decorated, inside and out! I’ll post pictures today on Facebook, for you to see…)

But for me this is a very personal holiday, one that brings tears to my eyes because it’s so meaningful.

You see, back in 1999, the week of the 4th of July was when I walked away from Corporate America for good, from collecting a paycheck from someone else, from doing mindless things I didn’t like doing and that weren’t actually making a difference, from being someone other than who I really was and from apparent “security.”

It was the week that I took the great leap of faith, against the advice of many people who loved me and wanted the “best” for me. It was the week that I started my own business, a nutrition business out of my 300 square foot apartment in midtown Manhattan, even though I knew nothing about being self-employed.

It may have been hot and muggy that week in the city, I may have had some doubts before making my decision, but I now felt light as air, giddy from the all-encompassing sense of freedom that came from drawing a line in the sand and declaring my own independence. It felt like I’d been released from a prison sentence.

Yes, I went through some turbulent times in the beginning. Naively, I started my own business not knowing how to market or get clients. I didn’t realize that doing marketing and sales in corporate is soooooo completely different from selling yourself, and that you actually need to follow a proven system. And yes, I felt lost, without a plan, and I had to figure out my own Client Attraction System without anyone’s help. Yes, I went about it through blood, sweat and tears. Sadly, The Client Attraction Business School™ didn’t exist back then…

But through hell and high water, alone and clueless, I made it. Yes, the gamble and the sleepless nights paid off after all. And you know what?

I wouldn’t give it up for the world.

Yes, entrepreneurship IS a full contact sport. Yes, it’s not for the faint at heart.

It’s for people with a big heart, a big vision and for those who want to make a difference and who are willing to do whatever it takes.

Entrepreneurship is a private club that I am incredibly proud to belong to, one that I will never, ever leave.

Why? Because…

I realize now that I’m completely unemployable (and unapologetic about it.)

I am a passionate rebel who is proud to shake up the status quo and be of service to other entrepreneurs around the world, with all the gifts that were divinely given to me.

And because I get to change lives every day, and no amount of “security” from an outside job could ever give me that feeling of being here on purpose, for a purpose, with a purpose.

I am proud, immensely proud, to call myself an entrepreneur, because I know in every cell of my body that entrepreneurs are some of the most courageous people on the planet, with the biggest hearts, the most determination and ultimately, are the ones who change the world.

And that means you too.

Whether or not we’ve ever met in person, please know that I champion you, I respect you, I admire you for bucking the status quo and doing your own thing, and I love you from afar.

Wherever you may be in the world, and whatever your own “independence day” was from working for someone else, even if that day is still ahead of you – TODAY, I celebrate your courage, your passion and your stick-to-it-ness.

Thank you for being on this journey with me.

Want to get more clients? Crush them with social proof!When you are looking to build your practice and get clients, there are a number of effective ways to improve your closing rate. However, one thing that can really tip the scales in your favor is to crush them with social proof! Now when I say “crush them” I mean to do this lovingly. You want prospects to begin to trust you because people do business with those they know, like, and trust. This is how you get clients.

Testimonials from happy clients help people feel more secure  when making the choice to work with you. Happy clients praising your work and process let others know you can help them solve their problem too.

If you want high paying clients, look at what I do online with video testimonials. Not only do we put them on the website, but I also use them on Facebook and Twitter.

The more you share your clients’ success stories, the more impressive and convincing your work becomes. And video is the strongest form of social proof. It’s really compelling. Find a way to get together with your clients in person and ask, “Do you mind talking about your experience and how pleased you are about it?” This kind of testimonial will get more clients.

Of course you can use written testimonials as well. I also recommend that you ask testimonials in a certain format. Have your client talk about how things were before working with you and how things changed for you afterward. This formula can make a big impression and points out what really works with you and your system. Oh, and be sure to ask for a photo to include with the testimonial.

So, when I say “crush them” what I really mean is to share loads of social proof so prospects feel more certain you can help them. It’s not about bragging, it’s offering the solution they are seeking.

Have you started collecting testimonials yet? If not, it’s time to get started. Video testimonials are great because they are so compelling and engaging. Don’t worry about making them look super professional. The spontaneity adds to the video’s believability. Commit to getting testimonials, even written ones from every happy client to build your social proof and get clients.

How to create an effective preview teleclass

Need Help Creating Your Preview Teleclass? Use This Simple FormatDelivering teleclasses is a powerful way to get clients. Yet, many of my students tell me they aren’t sure what to include or the order that works best to deliver the information.

I’m going to share my surefire structure for creating an amazing teleclass. It’s so easy you’ll have your first program together in no time. Or, this can be your opportunity to restructure your current content to make it work even harder for you so you get more clients.

I’m going to tell you my secret; I often script the entire program so that I know everything I’m going to say. You don’t need to type out every word, but when you have the main details in front of you, it makes delivering the information so much easier. Plus, you won’t need to worry about forgetting anything.

I recommend this seven part flow for material you want to share in your next preview teleclass.

1. Welcome listeners to the call. Tell them you are grateful they made time to be with you. Let them know how this time together will change their lives.

2. You have so much content you could talk for days. Talk about how you’ll provide loads of content, whatever can fit into the hour even though you could teach this stuff over three days because you have so much to share. There’s lots more to learn,  so suggest listeners may want to work with you to get more information and that later in the call, you’ll offer an opportunity for deeper learning.

3. Introduce your topic and present the problem callers have. Talk about the problem listeners have or if you don’t know this yet, tell your compelling story. Make sure to weave in client examples to prove how your method solves the problem.

4. Make a mini- pitch at 40 minutes. Say something like, “I’ve given you a lot of content already. We’re at step four out of seven (or whatever the number of steps). I know sometimes people can’t stay for the entire call and I don’t want you to miss anything coming up.” Then take 5-minutes to preview your offer, give out the URL, stuff like that.

5. Finish your content. Get back to delivering the remainder of the content and make sure you cover everything you promised.

6. Deliver your pitch. Finish up with your pitch and explain your offer to learn more at the end of the call. Don’t forget to squeeze in those client examples of success to get clients interested in working with you.

7. Close with some branding. For me, I end calls with “Okay, this is Fabienne Fredrickson signing off. Have a great night. Remember, live life like you mean it.” See how easy that is? Use this format, and you’ll get clients to work with you faster than you might think.

Three ways to stop attracting clients who can’t afford you

3 Powerful closing techniques for when people say they can't afford youSometimes my students end up in the frustrating place where prospects can’t afford their programs. This is a tough spot to be in and there are a few things that might be contributing to this situation. When I hear this, I recommend three tweaks to their get acquainted session and closing process.

1. Stop Teaching During the Get Acquainted Call. When you aren’t converting enough prospects in the get acquainted call, I ask if the person is “teaching.” Some people, in their desire to help, actually end up coaching on this first call and giving away their knowledge for free. That doesn’t work so well. Once a prospect has what he or she needs, why would they sign up to work with you? People walk away satisfied, having gotten what they need and as a result they don’t become a paying client. To attract more clients, you have to giving away your knowledge for free.

2. Ensure Prospects Answer Prep Questions Prior to the Call. There are a number of questions prospects need to answer before the get acquainted call, preparing them to talk to you. One of the questions I always asked was, “How much is one new client worth to you?”

Let’s say the value of one client is $1,000. Next I asked how many clients they have (let’s say two) and how many they need (let’s say 20). Then it’s clear the gap is 18 clients at $1,000 each – that’s a gap of $18,000 right? My program was $2,000, so prospects could see the cost was far less than the $18,000 they needed. Or another way to look at it is that the cost of my program could be covered with just two new clients.

You’ll want to apply this to your own closing process. Perhaps you’ll ask your prospects what is the value of good health to him or her? Or what is the value of finding true love? Whatever they say, your program is probably less than that. You might say, “Well my program is only $1,000” which conveys how affordable it is.

A Third Tweak Might Be Needed. Now, if you make these two tweaks and prospects still can’t afford your program, a third factor may be present. You might not be networking in the right place for your ideal prospects.

Even if your prospects have all the qualities of your ideal clients, but can’t afford your offerings, they are not really ideal. To attract clients who are ideal, change your marketing materials to say, “I work with successful women” or “successful business owners” – whatever your target audience is. It may sound harsh, but you are doing them a service by not wasting their time or yours.

If you encounter a lot of prospects who can’t afford your services, rethink where you are networking. It’s also not enough to go to monthly events. You are more likely to fill your pipeline and attract clients when you join a weekly group focused on providing leads.

How to Boost Your SEO with Google Authorship

As the landscape of the Internet is changing, the world of search engine optimization (SEO) is shifting too. As part of our online marketing, we rely on SEO to be discovered by our ideal prospects and clients on the web. A strong Internet presence helps us connect with new people we want to attract to our message and the services we offer.

Google is constantly updating their search algorithm, which means we need to constantly update our SEO methods and strategies. With the introduction of Google’s latest update, “Hummingbird,” the SEO playing field got a little more confusing and challenging. The new update means search engine optimization is no longer limited to links and keywords, but uses a more advanced technology to rank sites based on branding and content.

Chat with your web manager or take a look at Google’s instructions online – it’s pretty easy to set up. How to Let Go of Perfection

How to Follow Up by “Just Checking In”
